Meet the Team

Dan has officially been with Metwin since 2003 but has been part of the company and often seen In the office since the age of 9. Grandson of the founder, Metwin has been in Daniel’s family since 1956. Going from strength to strength it is a well-established business within the steel window industry.

Driving the business forward is one of Dan’s main ambitions; this was a big driving force in the decision to move the company and factory out of London and under one roof here in Harlow.

Continuous improvement is essential for maintaining our position in the market and the reason for re-branding. Our current projects include updating our website, showroom, being active on social media and implementing new software and procedures to ensure processes are streamlined and efficient.

Dan’s main daily duties also include Site Surveying; having grown up within the company there is little Dan doesn’t know about the products and installation.

With almost 40 years of service, Frank brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the company making him the ideal person to oversee the team of 15 which is made up of department managers, admin staff and workshop operatives

Frank joined the family business in the mid-80’s coming from a background in the telecommunication engineering ..ie BT. He brought with him the ability to run large contracts and projects spanning the whole spectrum of works that we cover. His big personality and strong relationships with clients and contractors are a big part in winning contracts and strengthening affiliations.

As the main Contract Manager for maintenance & repairs of City of London, and Barbican estate it is very important to be very well organised and efficient, paying particular attention to customer care, Health and Safety and legislation.

Frankie’s background is working for a local authority. He joined the City of London Corporation aged 17 and went on to work for them for the next 20 years, working in three different departments, Housing and Community Services, Technical Services Department and finally at the City of London School.

Starting his career as an Estate Officer on a very prestigious housing estate in the City of London, Frankie was responsible for the day to day running of the estate and then became a Maintenance Officer, responsible for three separate housing estates in North London. This comprised approx. 350 units, managing the contractors for delivering the day to day repairs, on time and on budget, for both responsive repairs and cyclical maintenance that were directly reported by the tenants and leaseholders. He was then ‘very lucky’ to have the opportunity to work at the City of London School, one of London’s top independent day schools, where he was part of a team that helped to look after and assist with all the facilities for the day to day running of the school for all the functions and gatherings throughout the academic year.

Having learned over the years how to engage with people of all ages and different backgrounds, coupled with the ability to listen and quickly work out solutions to problems, Frankie’s high level customer service skills and efficiency enable him to help people with solving problems, along with his computers and most things electronic skills.

When I am not at work here at Metwin I am with my family, I am a Dad to three wonderful children that fill my life with joy and empty my bank account of money.

Having demonstrated skill and hard work at on one of our sites in the 90’s, Andy was discovered for his potential – and offered a role with the opportunity to train as a casement welder and fabricator.

Since joining the company Andy has progressed greatly and has since moved into the office. He specialises in refurbishment and listed/heritage building works.

His vast knowledge of the steel sections and the processes and specification of the products/parts give him all the tools to run the ‘difficult’ and more ‘intricate’ projects to completion.

As a Site Surveyor, Andy is often present at site overseeing projects and interacting with clients and contractors.

Martin is a qualified and experienced welder, coming from a strong welding background he specialises in both the manufacture and refurbishment of steel/Crittall windows and doors.

Supervising four workshop operatives, Martin takes Health & Safety in the workplace very seriously. He is also responsible for logistics.
