What are Crittall screens?
Crittall screens are glazed steel partitions that separate one space from another while letting light travel freely between them. Made from slim hot-rolled steel sections, a screen can divide a kitchen from a living area, close off a home office, frame a staircase or create a boot room, all without losing the open feel of the house.
Every screen we install is a genuine Crittall Innervision® screen, made in Britain and designed for the space it sits in. Fixed screens can be combined with hinged or sliding doors, glazed in clear, frosted or reeded glass, and finished in almost any RAL or BS colour. Innervision is also used for acoustic partitions in offices, hotels and restaurants.
We handle the whole process ourselves, from the first conversation and site survey through to design, installation and aftercare. You deal with the same small team from start to finish, rather than being passed between a manufacturer and an installer.

Innervision Steel Screen and Door Colours
Innervision screens are available in a wide range of RAL and BS colours. Popular choices include Crittall black, traffic grey, agate grey, light grey, white and pastel green. Frames can match your external Crittall windows and doors, or contrast with them. We can show you finish samples at our Harlow showroom before you decide.

Hardware for Innervision Screens and Doors
Handles are chosen from Crittall's own hardware range, made in partnership with Frank Allart, English hardware makers since 1914. Sliding door pulls come in classic, Art Deco and contemporary designs. Some include a privacy turn, which makes a sliding screen door practical for a bathroom or ensuite. As the approved Crittall Parts Specialist, we can also supply replacement hardware for years to come.

Frame Options for Crittall Screens
Choose a fixed screen on its own, or add single or double hinged doors, or sliding doors with a soft-close mechanism. Glazing bars can follow a traditional grid or a simpler contemporary layout. Where fire protection is needed, the Innervision FR range offers a fire-rated screen with the same slim steel look.

Designed around your space
Every Innervision screen starts with a conversation about how you use the room. We then survey the site, design the layout and finish with you, and install the screen with our own team. After installation, our aftercare and Service Maintenance keep it working as it should, and we can supply genuine Crittall parts for as long as you need them.

Crittall screens for period and modern homes
Slim steel sections suit an unusually wide range of interiors. The black frame and glazing grid look at home in a loft or warehouse-style space, while the same profiles sit naturally in Victorian, Edwardian and 1930s houses, where steel windows were often original to the building. We have worked on period, listed and conservation area properties since 1956, so we can advise not only on the look of your screen, but on how it will work with the character of the house around it.
Crittall screens: your questions answered
Here are the questions we are asked most often about Crittall Innervision screens and room dividers. If yours is not here, we are always happy to talk it through.
Ask Our TeamAn internal window is a glazed opening set into a wall you are keeping. A Crittall screen replaces the wall itself, usually running from floor to ceiling, and can include doors. If you want to share light through an existing wall, our internal Crittall windows are the better fit. If you want to open up or divide a room, a screen is usually the right choice.
Yes. Innervision screens can include single or double hinged doors, or sliding doors with a soft-close mechanism. The doors and screen are designed together, so the steel glazing bars line up across the whole run.
They can be. The Innervision FR range is fire rated to BS 476 Part 22 (FD30, integrity only), so a screen can be used where fire protection is needed without losing the slim steel look. We will advise whether your project needs a fire-rated screen.
Yes. Frosted or reeded glass gives privacy while still letting light through. Sliding door pulls with a privacy turn make a screen door practical for a bathroom or ensuite.
Yes. Slim steel sections suit period architecture well, and we have worked on heritage properties since 1956. For listed buildings, we can talk you through what is likely to be acceptable before you apply for consent.
Individual fixed lights can be up to 3050mm wide and 3050mm high, and panels can be combined for larger openings. One of our recent projects in St Albans includes a two-storey glazed screen beside the main staircase.
Every screen is made to measure, so the price depends on its size, layout, doors, glazing and finish. We provide a detailed quotation after an initial consultation and site survey, so you know exactly what is included.
Very little. Frames are hot-dip galvanised and powder coated, so regular cleaning with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner is all they need. If a door or fitting ever needs attention, we offer Service Maintenance and genuine Crittall parts.
Yes. Our showroom at Units 13 to 15 Stort Mill, Harlow, CM20 2SN is open Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4pm. You can see internal steel glazing, sliding doors, and hardware and finish samples there.

Wanted an internal door to break up two large living spaces, but still enable us to effectively leave the space open or closed depending on the mood. The Metwin product was perfect and the slimness of the frame meant that it still lets so much light into both rooms. One of the key requirements for us was to have a design that accommodated sliding doors and not traditional open swing doors. With 2 small children running around we didn’t want them smashing into the slim frame! We also preferred the minimalist look and it didn’t disappoint. Dan was fantastic from start to finish and his team completed the job within a day. Leaving no mess and great advice on what to do with the windows in the settling in period. Genuinely have zero concerns with the product and feel safe in the knowledge that if there are any issues then Dan and his team will be around to rectify any problems. Not that we expect any in the slightest! Excellent company and highly recommend.
